Description:

With over 15 years experience as a teacher and professional player, I work with students from the age of 7 upwards, beginners through to grade 8 and beyond. I teach with a very `tension free` approach, developing general musicality and creativity as well as focussing on technique. I am happy to enter pupils for Associated Board grade exams, or work with people who want to learn purely for pleasure. As a professional chamber musician I am also willing to work with more advanced players wishing to improve their ensemble skills or to teach techniques to help reduce stage fright and prevent physical injuries from playing. I also teach for Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire county music services and am CRB checked and approved. Based in Cheddington near Aylesbury or Leighton Buzzard.

I am a professional musician and musicologist. I completed my studies in violin in the Karol Lipinski State School in Lublin (Poland). I then obtained a degree in Musicology (the history and theory of music) at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow in Poland. I hope to continue my studies and at the moment I am preparing to begin a doctorate in musicology at this university. In the future I would also like to begin a postgraduate in music-therapy (in London) as this has been one of my interests for many years. . I have wide experience in the field of music teaching. I have been teaching music for more than ten years (in Poland and Spain) specially to small children, but teenagers and adults too. I enjoy working with people and I am outgoing and sociable. I am well aware of the differences that characterise learners of different ages and their different expectations and I can claim to obtain good results when working with each group. . I am a professional violinist offering tuition in violin, piano, recorder and theory. I was a scholarship student at one of the five specialist music schools in UK –Wells Cathedral School- as well as at the Royal Academy of Music. Musicians I have been fortunate enough to have studied with include Igor Petrushevski, Matthew Souter, Maciej Rakowski and Yumi Sasaki. In addition to teaching, I work intensively with a string quartet. My main goal as a teacher is to motivate my pupils in a relaxed but focused environment and guide them in developing their own musical style. Although in order to progress and improve to one`s best ability, discipline is important, I believe that the key ingredient to playing music is having fun and enjoying it! Anybody is welcome, whatever age or ability. . For a FREE CONSULTATION contact: Radhika de saram on 077917661665 . Based in Hampstead, but happy to travel out to students` homes if preferred.
